  • STYLE

Sudhi Ranjan Bhushan`s most substantial works - paintings, sculptures, collages and screen prints bears the imprint of an intense and keen understanding of the medium. They are the result of a mind, which has strong natural and unmixed non-figurative inclinations.? Unlike his noted contemporaries, Bhusan wants to escape the reality without any built in philosophical appendix to his works. He doesnot offer any philosophical quiz to justify the escape. Nor does he pretend to solve some `technical` problems with high-brow seriousness. Yet, in this luminous bid for escape, one can detect the restless shadow of the reality he wanted to flee. His use of tear - sheets of corrugated paper tells us of darker things in sombre, brown silence.
