  • STYLE

    Maniklal Banerjee was an eminent water colourist. He is well-known for his paintings on silk, and he was specialised in imparting a silky feel to his paintings. He was mainly inspired by tradition, the rural life of Bengal, nature, Indian ideologies, philosophical aspects, Tantric and Vedic themes. Harmony of colours, compositions and sensitivity were the most fascinating features of his artistic creations. His control of colours and lines made him a perfectionist in his own style.
