  • STYLE

Laxma Gaud is a versatile printmaker and painter. A master draughtsman, the artist has worked in a variety of mediums - etching, gouache, pastel and grass paintings. He interpreted childhood memories of rural and tribal vivacity through a sophisticated urban grid in which surreal, libidinal tones mingled with fantasy and poetry. Incisiveness, hatched lines and a keen eye for detail have been his particular forte. Naturally, pencil drawings and graphic works became his chosen medium, the monochromatic austerity being an individual statement.
